AW139 helicopter is one of the prominent representatives in the medium multipurpose helicopters line produced by Italian company Leonardo. A model with a classic designed (a cabin with wide windows, main and anti-torque rotor, three-wheel chassis) is manufactured in Italy, Russia and the USA. The multipurpose helicopter combines the technological capabilities of flight equipment, comfort, ergonomics, and excellent flight performance. Due to two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6C-67C engines the aircraft enjoys an unsurpassed reliability level.

Application fields and modifications

AW139 is used for cargo, passenger and corporate transportation, rescue and medical operations, travelling, as well as protecting offshore drilling platforms. The minimal vibration level and engines reliability increase the helicopter’s efficiency under the poor flight conditions, such as low temperatures or strong wind, as well as in high-altitude or hot areas.

The corporate configuration of the model is capable of transporting up to 15 passengers, the VIP one – up to 8.

AW139 civil helicopter is easily adapted to the required application conditions. There are several basic configurations of the model available:

• VIP. Complies with high standards of style and comfort, thus can be used for corporate transportation or organizing flights of government officials. Up to 8 passengers can be taken on board, with the cabin interior being designed according to the customer’s personal preferences. For enhanced comfort, the aircraft can be equipped with a double system of external noise isolation. The technical solution includes zoning of the passenger compartment from the cockpit.
• Patient transportation. AW139 can transport two injured people and five medical specialists. The space ergonomics makes it possible for medical personnel to move free along the cabin, enabling them to quickly connect special equipment to perform urgent medical treatment during the flight.
• Fire-fighting operations. High load capacity combined with capability of transporting fire extinguishing equipment in two ways – underslung or in a suspension unit. Moreover, it is possible to install a container with fire-fighting liquid under the fuselage.
• Search and rescue operations. The flight range exceeding 1000 km makes it possible to perform rescue or search operations in remote areas. Optionally, anti-icing protection can be installed. The compartment with two large doors makes it possible to get into the helicopter quickly, and a spacious luggage compartment enables to deliver loads weighing more than 2500 kg to the destination point in the compartment or underslung.
• Offshore drilling platforms protection.  The helicopter can be used to transport up to 15 passengers or three tons of cargo. The modification is designed to be used under poor weather conditions with the same maneuverability level. The integrated anti-icing system maintains a high level of aircraft reliability.
