Description
The AW109 GrandNew helicopter is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney PW207C gas turbine engines with an electronic control system FADEC. The fuselage of the AW109 GrandNew is made of modern composite materials. The Genesys Aerosystems cockpit is made of glass and equipped with a new four-axis digital autopilot. The AW109 GrandNew was the first light helicopter equipped with the SVS synthetic vision system. The current topographic situation is displayed in real time under all weather conditions. This helicopter is equipped with the HTAWS terrain warning system, which provides detailed data and promptly informs about any change in the situation. On-board electronics with a digital display on the screen significantly reduces the burden on pilots. The most modern electronic systems allow to achieve perfect control accuracy and a high level of safety. HITS system (“The sky route”) displays a three-dimensional route diagram. The innovative EVS front-view system significantly increases the situational awareness of pilots in conditions of poor visibility — in the dark, thick fog or clouds, smog and dust, which contributes to high flight safety.
The AW109 GrandNew model is designed model with noise and vibration isolation of the passenger compartment. Wide enough sliding doors (on both sides) and retractable steps with electric drive provide a comfortable landing in and out of the cabin.
AW109 GrandNew helicopter with a wide range of modifications can be used as a corporate or VIP air transport, in emergency and medical operations, as well as for the delivery of personnel to offshore oil and gas platforms. Bad weather conditions are also not an obstacle to flying on this helicopter model.
